Multiple layers of costs: $40 fee, $15 issue charge – $25 goes to Bucks

If you’re feeling left out in being able to help the Milwaukee Bucks billionaire owners finance a new arena for the NBA franchise, you’re in luck.

Now, you can do your part with new specialty license plates from the DOT, after legislation was signed by Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker back in March.

Bucks license plates are available to help fund the arena. New plates cost $40, including an annual $25 fee is a tax deductible donation.

There’s a $15 charge on top of that and $15 more if you’d like to personalize it.

The tax deduction goes toward the new sports and entertainment arena facilities in the Milwaukee entertainment district and the Milwaukee Bucks Foundation.

The new $500,000 arena is expected to be open for the 2018-2019 NBA season.

The state has over 40 specialty license plates right now and work is underway on at least five more, including one for the Wisconsin Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.

Each plate renewal will send $25 to Bucks on top of the regular registration fee (if not personalized).
